What really is the human animal bond? And why it is sometimes so intense and has the bond truly intensified especially among millennials? Is it possible for some clients to be too bonded? These days more pets share our beds than ever, as millennials have no clue what a doghouse even is. How have the needs of clients have changed because of the intensification of this bond? There is a psychological phenomenon call Baby Replacement Syndrome. In some ways do pets pay a price for this? For example, a discussion of how to talk to clients so they don’t wait too long to euthanize which appears to be a trend. Also discussed is how training dogs like raising children may be unfair to dogs and even cause behavioral challenges. Still. now the time is right for veterinary professionals to “take advantage” of this intense bond.
