This lecture provides a definition of fluid overload in cats and dogs along with a description of the physiologic changes that occur in response to fluid overload. Prevention, diagnosis, and treatment for this condition are discussed. Several cases are presented as examples of fluid overload along with the management and ways that the fluid overload were managed.
