Dr. Simon Platt Talks Seizures in Dogs and Cats

Isabelle Perlman

Understanding seizures in dogs and cats is one of the most frustrating topics in veterinary medicine. Luckily, we brought in Simon Platt, BVM&S, FRCVS, Dipl. ACVIM (Neurology), Dipl. ECVN, one of the neurologists at the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine to help you wrap your brain around seizures.

A New York Vet favorite, Dr. Platt will be joining us on October 29th for our first online conference – Vet Show @ Home – covering two highly examined topics: Seizures in Dogs and Cats - The Investigation and Initial Management and Seizures in Dogs and Cats - The Treatment Options. For his first session on investigation and initial management, attendees will learn how to differentiate seizure activity from the other possible mimics of seizures using video footage. Dr. Platt will also go in-depth on treatment options, why vets should treat seizures, indications for starting medication, and the drugs to consider.

His second session on treatment options goes hand-in-hand with the first, as Dr. Platt will focus on these drugs, discuss their pros and cons, as well as their effectiveness, adverse effects, length of treatment, and more.
