New insights in the treatment of canine heart failure
The pathophysiology of advanced heart failure is a complex combination of neurohormonal dysregulation, myocardial failure, and a myriad of concurrent comorbidities including: pathologic arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, diuretic resistance, and anorexia. Improving the quality of life for patients with advanced heart failure will require astute recognition of these alterations. Treatment strategies for advanced stage heart failure patients is individualized for each patient and the concepts presented in this session will create a framework that can be applied to your own practice
