Not eating is not normal for cats! (Tony Buffington). This presentation will highlight the causes and consequences of feline anorexia. An algorithmic approach to classifying differentials will be outlined, and important part of the cat's psyche will be highlighted. Non-pharmacologic, complimentary, non-specific, and targeted appetite stimulating strategies will be detailed. Both anecdotal reports and evidenced-based medicine will be drawn upon to add to the armamentarium for attacking this perplexing problem. Finally, techniques for assisted feeding will be illustrated with the help of a brief technical video.
