Available for RACE approved CE credit if watched from 10:30AM-11:20AM PST on Wednesday, October 6, 2021.
Fractious patients are not only dangerous to the people trying to handle them, they are also dangerous to themselves. Fractious patients require a higher dose of sedative/anesthetic drugs to achieve unconsciousness when compared to calm patients and the adverse effects of these drugs are primarily dose-dependent. Drugs, techniques, and tips for getting fractious patients safely to the hospital and for handling the patients safely in the hospital will be covered in this lecture.
